Luke 11:2-4
Prayer is a mark of discipline.
We got to move from personal praying for ourselves to intercessory prayer for others.
Luke 11:5-8
We got to have persistence.
Persistence means "shamelessness"
We are in the midnight hour. We shouldn't be coming to church and feel apologetic for being spiritual.
Something inside you have to keep pounding on the door and say I want more I need more of Jesus.
God wants us to see how persistent we are in our prayer.
To Jesus Christ, prayer is shameless persistence.
We got to persist in our prayer.
The purpose of our prayer is not to inform God what we want.
The whole purpose of prayer is to reveal what is in your heart and strengthen your faith.
Faith is persistence/perseverance.
Lk 18:1-8
What type of faith is Jesus Christ looking for?
v. 1 always pray and not lose heart. continuously seek Him.
God is nv early nor late. He is always on time.
God will always answer our prayers but he nv tell us when. Often we have to wait.
Reasons for divine delays
1. PRIDE in our lives
2. Not ready for RESPONSIBILITY
He may be expanding your capacity. Preparing you for what is required.
3. Not really HUNGRY or DESPERATE
The fact you are persistent shows that you really want it badly.
4. God's TIMETABLE
God is waiting for the best time. He wants the best for us.
Every time we are persistent in prayer, instead of wanting to give up, our faith gets stronger and deeper. That is what God wants.
Rom 5:3-4 (NIV)
God wants us to have character. He is more concern about our character than our comfort.
James 1:2-4 (NIV)
When God gives you the answers to your prayers, He will do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask/think of.
